EC
Directive 2003/53/EEC puts in place controls to restrict the
marketing and use of nonylphenol and nonyl phenol ethoxylate.
All
current LSC cocktails contain NPEs and therefore, drain disposal
of
cocktail and cocktail waste is not an option, irrespective of
any certification regarding biodegradability.

10 Liters of cocktail + 1,000 20mL Vials burn to ~51.3Kg CO2
or 26,160 Liters of CO2 at STP.
To
envisage this amount of CO2 consider a normal petrol
tanker has a capacity of 25,000 Liters.
Or, a 250
mile return trip by aeroplane for one person, uses a similar Carbon
Footprint.

Certain isotopes cannot be incinerated because they pose a greater
threat in the gaseous phase than in the liquid phase.

amount of CO2 is produced during the process as a by-product
of biodegradation.
