ProSafe+ Cocktails - the next generation

EC Directive 2003/53/EEC puts in place controls to restrict the
marketing and use of nonylphenol and nonyl phenol ethoxylate.

All current LSC cocktails contain NPEs and therefore, drain disposal of
cocktail and cocktail waste is not an option, irrespective of
any certification regarding biodegradability.
Is incineration the ONLY currently acceptable method of disposal?

ProSafe+ and ProFlow+ cocktails biodegrade completely without producing endocrine disruptors as experienced with NPE or APE containing cocktails.
The cocktails are based on DIPN solvent and during biodegradation in the sewer system they do not form any endocrine disrupters.

INCINERATION	BIODEGRADATION
Carbon Footprint 10 Liters of cocktail + 1,000 20mL Vials burn to ~51.3Kg CO₂ or 26,160 Liters of CO₂ at STP. To envisage this amount of CO₂ consider a normal petrol tanker has a capacity of 25,000 Liters. Or, a 250 mile return trip by aeroplane for one person, uses a similar Carbon Footprint. Cost The cost of incinerating is high when you factor in : Storage of Waste Transportation of Waste Licensed Incineraters' charges. Another Problem Certain isotopes cannot be incinerated because they pose a greater threat in the gaseous phase than in the liquid phase.	Carbon Footprint 10 Liters of ProSafe Cocktail biodegrades to a biomass. A very small amount of CO₂ is produced during the process as a by-product of biodegradation. 1,000 20mL Vials can then be recycled. Meridian Biotechnologies Ltd has recently formulated a range of cocktails that do not contain any NPEs or APEs and only contain 100% biodegradable constituents.
